Cleveland’s Defense Has To Regroup
On the other side of the ball is our defense which many believed was going to be a top 5 defense in the league. That can still be the case despite giving up 31 points to the Jets. The defense has to play better, much better in order to get any kind of success this season.
The Browns didn’t sack Ryan Fitzpatrick at all on Sunday. That allowed him plenty of time to get the ball out of his hands.
This week the Browns’ pass rush is going to need to be a huge key in stopping Mariota’s offense. The Browns will need to rush him in order to slow down the Titans passing attack. Not only that but Cleveland’s defense also allowed 154 rushing yards on 36 attempts as well (4.3 yards/attempt).
You can expect the Titans to test our rushing defense until the Browns proves they can stop them. It’s also worth noting that the Browns only caused one turnover against the Jets and we ended up turning over that turnover (I still can’t explain how that worked out by the way).
We will be given more opportunities to get more turnovers over this pass happy Titans offense and the Browns will need to take advantage of those opportunities.
The defense has too much talent at each level to be as bad as they played this past Sunday. Expect them to play much better this weekend.
So that leaves the question… who wins on Sunday?
