3. It’s Time For Shelton To Dominate

Danny Shelton is back in the “Dawg House” for a second week. It may be knit-picking because he didn’t have a terrible game. He had four tackles, and he opened some holes for the backers, but it’s still not that dominant performance that most fans are expecting to see. For example, against the Washington Redskins, he was double and tripled team for most of the game, and he still found ways to make plays. That version of Shelton hasn’t been seen in weeks. The Titans best offensive lineman, Chance Warmack, missed the rest of the game after suffering a leg injury, and Shelton didn’t take advantage of that opportunity to make an impact on their backup.

He still isn’t finding a way to get off blocks  and he misses tackles that are through his gap. Bishop Sankey–who is a mediocre running back at best was able to run up the middle and get gains for some of the game ( Which is more than can be said for former back Terrance West). I understand that he is still a rookie, but with a high pick comes loaded expectations and thus far it has been disappointing.

Everybody had a scare in the third quarter after Shelton went down after tackling West.

Luckily, he was able to come back on the field for the PAT and didn’t show any lingering effects of the injury.

Shelton will be going up against a much weaker offensive line against the Raiders, however, he will be dealing with the 230lb Latavius Murray who is due for a big game. He must learn from his mistakes on a game-to-game basis or Danny will already be a member of the Dawg House Hall Of Fame.
