McCown And Crowell Are Clicking

On the other hand is the Browns offense, which looked pretty good last weekend. I gave McCown a lot of crap for being chosen to start over Johnny Manziel at QB last weekend against the San Diego Chargers after he played a very sub par game against a very sub par Oakland Raiders defense.

Instead of complaining about the criticism he was getting from nearly the entire Browns fanbase, he simply came back and threw 32/41 for 356 yards and 2 TDs (0 INTs) on the Chargers defense the following week.

Not only this but RB Isaiah Crowell had a solid game himself on the ground with 12 runs for 62 yards. RB Duke Johnson also had 8 rushes for 31 yards and 9 receptions for 85 yards and a TD. The running back duo had their best outing yet in San Diego.

As a whole the offense played really well, but what killed them in a big way throughout the game was their inability to finish key drives with TDs. As Jim Donovan said “You can’t exchange touchdowns with field goals”.

I put the majority of the Browns’ past loss on the defense for their inability to get stops. Yet I also have to point out that the offense needs to increase their red zone efficiency in the near future. Doing that would give their team a better chance to win throughout the rest of the 2015 season.
