Cleveland Browns: 10 Players Who Should Not Be Back In ’16
By Ryan Rosko
1. Johnny Manziel
Who else would be the coverboy for a list like this? The answer is no one.
Manziel had no business being a first round pick — not just because of his off-field issues, but his on-field play did not display enough skill either. Manziel was known as a player who could pull off a couple of dynamic plays, but was he really someone who could play quarterback in the NFL?
Two seasons later nothing has changed in his game (especially in 2015 when he played the most). The fact that the Cleveland Browns not only selected Manziel, but traded up to get him still puts me at a loss for words. Manziel’s issues has not improved.
The history as a whole with Manziel is well documented. His issues have ranged from missing treatment, to going to Las Vegas when he was needed in Cleveland, to party videos, which has become a regular occurrence, being posted online.
Although Browns owner Jimmy Haslam mentioned that the relationship between Manziel and the team can be fixed, that is simply the politically correct answer. Then again, he and the organization has to do that so they do not show their hand — whether that be trade aspirations or getting prepared to cut him.
Cleveland had to have enough of Manziel’s antics. Speaking of antics, Manziel had another altercation in Fort Worth, Texas earlier today.
With a new regime in charge, there is not a reason to believe he has a future as a Cleveland Brown. The future at quarterback is not Manziel, and his replacement could be North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz, Memphis’ Paxton Lynch, or California’s Jared Goff.
Manziel staying on the roster in 2016 does not make sense.

Why keep a player who obviously does not take the honor and privilege of playing in the NFL seriously on the roster again for another season?
