Cleveland Browns: 10 Players Who Should Not Be Back In ’16
By Ryan Rosko
9. Taylor Gabriel
Gabriel’s statistics were pretty bad in the role he had this past season. Gabriel is not the only player at the wide receiver position that had that issue. Darius Jennings and Marlon Moore also had poor seasons and should be under consideration to be possibly cut.

Gabriel finished with 28 receptions for 241 yards. Those stats is a significant drop-off from 2014 when he had 621 yards and one touchdown. The number of injuries the Cleveland Browns wide receiver position went through all season allowed Gabriel to have more opportunities to make more plays. However, he simply did not take advantage of his chances.
Cleveland had three quarterbacks start in 2015 and although that situation was filled with inconsistency, there were players who still had at least solid seasons. The quarterback problems cannot be stated as the sole reason why Gabriel did not put up good numbers.
Gabriel’s last year on his contract is 2016. He is only owed $600,000, which is very reasonable. Gabriel’s salary would be a steal if he could actually do better on the field. As Cleveland evaluates Gabriel’s play, his 5’8 height is not going to benefit him.
