Kurt Coleman

When Kurt Coleman signed a two-year deal with the Carolina Panthers last winter. The news didn’t create a lot of buzz. Unless you’re a diehard Buckeyes fan, you probably heard a blurb about it on the drive to work and said, “Who?”

Give NFL.com writer Kevin Patra credit, who wrote the following after the signing: “Coleman’s signing won’t move the needle, but it’s the type of low-level addition that can mean more on the field in November than it does on paper in March.”

Petra’s prediction has been dead on, as Coleman has been a stud for the Panthers since reuniting with defensive coordinator Sean McDermott, with whom he played for as an undrafted rookie with Philadelphia in 2010.

Coleman’s benefited from playing behind a stellar front seven, and the former Ohio State All-American has done his part when asked, intercepting seven passes, which co-led the NFC.
