Brock Osweiler, QB

It’s hard to believe the Broncos would let Brock Osweiler walk away, but if the Browns have a chance, they need to swoop in and sign Peyton Manning‘s backup.

The Arizona State product would come to Cleveland having backed up arguably the game’s greatest quarterback. He’s watched for Manning for four years, and he’d put on an orange helmet ready to play from day one. He also gained valuable in-game experience leading the Broncos while Manning was out during the later part of the regular season.

In 2015, Osweiler tossed 10 touchdowns against six interceptions, while completing 61.8 percent of his passes. His QBR wasn’t impressive (48.8), but he was 5-2 as a starter. If you’re counting at home, that’s four more wins that Josh McCown earned.

ESPN.com’s Bill Barnwell wrote the Browns could steal Osweiler as the Broncos wait to hear from Manning about whether he’ll play next year.

"“Osweiler is still a question mark, but Hue Jackson has been one of the better coaches in football at developing young quarterbacks in years past. The Browns might not be able to convince Osweiler to jump ship and leave a possible Super Bowl contender, but if they’re willing to guarantee him the starting job…they might find a window into getting their quarterback of the future for nothing more than money.”"

According to The MMQB’s Peter King, the Broncos feel Hue Jackson will come looking to lure Osweiler away so that the franchise can use the No. 2 overall pick on more of a sure thing come draft day.
