1. QB Johnny Manziel (2014- 22nd Overall)

Johnny Manziel, Johnny Football, Ryan Leaf 2.0, whatever you want to call him, is the single worst draft pick in Cleveland Browns history. Multiple factors need to be considered when thinking about that statement.

Manziel single-handedly transformed the organization into a two-year soap opera. Almost immediately after being drafted pictures began to surface of him partying and rolling up a $20 bill in a Las Vegas bathroom. The Browns were “alarmed” by his actions at the time, according to Cleveland.com.

Manziel single-handedly transformed the organization into a two-year soap opera.

A 10-week stay in rehab then subsequently followed Manziel’s wash of a rookie season. His 2015 campaign was supposed to be a fresh start and a chance to prove he was worth the first round selection. Instead, he blatantly lied to coaches, could not stay away from a camera while drinking, and infamously skipped concussion treatment for a covert trip to Vegas disguise and all. Notice I have not mentioned his play on the field once.

His personal downfall recently took a dark turn with his alleged assault of ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley. Even before this latest incident the Browns made their intentions to part ways with him abundantly clear. Has a player ever destroyed a head-coaching regime so methodically? Mike Pettine would probably answer no.

Two years after the franchise invested a first round pick in him, Johnny Manziel has left the team no choice but to cut their losses and move on.
