You Want Size?

I’ll be the first to admit. I knew very little about Carson Wentz during the 2015 college football season.  I never saw him play live, and because there was such little fanfare surrounding him during the season, I became suspiciously curious about his meteoric rise to the top of NFL Draft boards. It’s almost like the media is manufacturing hype around the kid.

Why? Maybe it’s his backstory as kid with a big-time college body tearing it up at a small school in South Dakota. Maybe the Mike Mayocks of the world want to be tied to Wentz so in the chance he becomes a Hall-of-Famer, they can proclaim, “I discovered him!”

After watching a considerable amount of combine coverage, the thing the draft guru’s like most about Wentz is his size, which would be great for the AFC North. He’s 6-foot-6, 235 pounds. On those numbers alone, sign the Browns up, right?

But Goff isn’t exactly a shrimp. He’s 6-foot-4, but a little thin at 215 pounds. Weight can be added later on. That’s why all these teams employ trainers and neutron experts. The point is, Goff is big enough.

And considering he’s more accomplished than Wentz, and played against tougher competition, it’s just another reason Goff needs to be the Browns pick at No. 2.
