Round 5. There’s Gary Barnidge And Then Who At TE?

player. 53. . Tight End. South Carolina. Jerell Adams. 141

No one knows what the Cleveland Browns will get out E.J. Bibbs if/when he is played on a regular basis. Even if Bibbs shows the potential he is capable of, another tight end is needed.

Most of the tight ends are middle round players. With that being the case and if a run were to occur, the Browns would need to select someone before they have to settle on a lesser talent.

Adams continued to improve his stats each season. That is saying something with a decline the South Carolina football team has had the last few years and especially this past season.

Adams can come in, play special teams and/or be the backup to Gary Barnidge or third string tight end pending Bibbs’ play. Adams caught 28 passes for 421 yards and three touchdowns last season.

Round 5. Add Depth To Stop The Run

. Defensive End. Oklahoma. Charles Tapper. 171. player. 53

Charles Tapper‘s 2015 season was an improvement over his 2014 play. In 13 games, he finished with 50 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and four forced fumbles.

More from Cleveland Browns

Stopping the run was something the 2015 Cleveland Browns could not do from the start of the season. There is already talent along the defensive line, but adding Tapper should get the Browns to improve in that area of the game in 2016.

The good thing about Tapper’s game is that he is not just a defensive end. Tapper has the ability to make plays at multiple positions along the line, something Horton should take advantage of often.

Veteran defensive end Randy Starks was released earlier this offseason. The selection of Tapper would help fill that void. The combination of Tapper with John Hughes, and Danny Shelton gives the Browns a formidable trio for years to come.
