Cleveland Browns 2016 NFL Mock Draft 1.0
By Ryan Rosko
Round 7. Not A One Trick Pony
This is a luxury pick for the Cleveland Browns, filled with flexibility. Michael Caputo was a safety the last two seasons, but he has played other positions (which comes in handy not only on special teams but also when he is subbed into the games this season as a cornerback or even in some way as a linebacker, both of which he could play). The more a player can do gives more reasons for teams to like said player.
If Caputo shows that he is as versatile as his film has shown, then he has a better chance of staying on the roster. A Caputo selection would also help the Cleveland Browns as a whole when determining player’s roster future, who are on the verge of being cut.
Adding to what possibly could be the youngest free safety group in the NFL next season, Caputo is not a one trick pony but he would help given the opportunity. Unless the play of Campbell and Bush is absolutely horrible, his chances could be scarce.
Depending on how and when the run(s) of safeties occur, Caputo could be drafted in the sixth round. Although that could happen at any time, a mid-sixth round to undrafted free agent projection fits best for Caputo.

Caputo is a jacks of all trades kind of player. Caputo is not going to return kicks or punts for the Cleveland Browns, but he would be on special teams and opponents better watch out. He is going to hit and hit hard!
