Corey Coleman

If Corey Coleman is to become a Brown, Cleveland would have to bypass Doctson at No. 32 in favor of the Baylor product. There’s just no way he’s going to be around at No. 65. If there’s a run on receivers, he may not even be around at 32.

But since many mock drafters are projecting Coleman to be an early second-round pick, Coleman needs to be on the Browns’ radar at No. 32.

Here’s why you take him: His speed is electric. He can stretch the field and offers some insurance should Josh Gordon disappoint after not missing the entire 2015 season.

Yards after catch is also a big stat the analytically-driven front office probably likes. Not only can Coleman go deep, but he can take a short pass and turn it into a big gain.

Why would the Browns pass on the Baylor product? His 10 drops are little concerning, considering the history the Browns have of acquiring players with cement hands, but that reason alone shouldn’t be enough for Cleveland to pass on him if he’s available at 32.

Additionally, Coleman is undersized at 5-11. It’s no secret, Cleveland needs to get bigger at the position. But, perhaps, with the expected return of Gordon, the Browns may feel they can be smaller on the opposite side. Coleman certainly has the playmaking abilities that will warrant the gamble.
