Browns Go Defense In Round 1

Linebacker. UCLA. Myles Jack. 8. player. 53.

I am very tempted to go with Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott here but ultimately the Cleveland Browns do not go offense in round one. Cleveland instead goes with the best defensive player on the board in Myles Jack. Drafting a linebacker? Yes, that is right, a linebacker, but Jack is more than just a player at the position.

Although Jack can play plenty of positions, it is unlikely he will be moving elsewhere permanently. Cleveland has plenty of needs and though linebacker is not first or second on the to-do list, we will look back at this pick as a steal. Besides, if Jack needs to play multiple positions, then that is going to be no problem.

Whether he lines up as a linebacker, safety, EDGE, or even running back (I know it is very unlikely and it should not be counted on, but you never know). Jack is going to be a cornerstone player for the organization.

I have stated in the past that he is a jack’s of all trade with his versatility (pun intended) and because of that, Cleveland is likely to value him more. Defending both the running and passing games comes at ease for Jack.  He is coming off of a bad knee injury, but Jack has healed and is ready to go.
