3) Will the Browns move down again? Better yet, should they?

JOE: Something tells me that they might. There are already rumblings of the Browns talking to the Titans about the 8th pick and I’m sure after the top of the draft boards gets moving, teams will get antsy about grabbing their top targets. The Colts might need to jump ahead of the Bears for an offensive tackle. The Falcons might want to jump up and grab their choice of linebackers. Then there’s bound to be some team that wants to grab Ezekiel Elliot before it’s their turn in the order. The Browns won’t need a huge return to move around in the middle of the first round as any additional draft picks will help in the long run. If the right deal presents itself, the Browns should jump on it.

KRIS: I think the wheels are already in motion on moving this pick. Why? I don’t think Sashi Brown is dialed in on taking any one player. In a recent press conference he was quoted as saying there’s someone they want, but if the right team comes calling I don’t think he’s married to that player just as he wasn’t with anyone at #2. The Tennessee Titans could be a team looking to trade up from #15 for a top-10 Left Tackle, or the Miami Dolphins from #13 may be in on Ezekiel Elliott. That said, it’s going to take the right players being there for a deal to happen. The reason I think Brown would make a deal is to capture another 2nd round pick that he didn’t get in the Eagles trade. Why am I so hung up on that? It’s simply the fact that 2nd rounders have a better chance of making an impact on a roster that 3rd and 4th rounders. If the Browns really want “value” and players to impact this roster in this draft, the 2nd round is where “value” lives.

JOE: I don’t know if the Browns necessarily will move down, but they’d be crazy not to listen. As I mentioned earlier, they’re in a great spot to continue to move down and take advantage of the desperation of other teams that value the now over the later. This one draft isn’t going to fix the Browns. by grabbing more picks and gaining more value, the front office can make sure the Browns are set up for the long run. Depending on how the board looks, they SHOULD trade down, but only if the right deal presents itself. Kris, you’re right by identifying the Titans and Dolphins as teams that might want to jump up, but so would anyone looking for a tackle, as Ronnie Stanley, Jack Conkln, and Taylor Decker will go quickly before teams can jump up and get them. If there’s a position to take advantage of, its offensive tackle.

KRIS: Yeah it’s all going to depend on what happens between picks 3-7. The San Diego Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, San Fransisco 49ers, and Baltimore Ravens are among the teams that are wild cards right now. Who’s left on the board will determine who’s willing to trade up when and where. If there’s a run on tackles, teams are going to want to trade up for the last of the big 3. We also know that with two QB’s off the board at 1-2 someone might get antsy on Paxton Lynch. All it takes is someone who’s desperate and fearful enough that they’re going to miss out on their guy.
