How About Both The OF And The ‘Pen?
Yes, there are questions about Michael Brantley and it is true that Abraham Almonte adds depth to the outfield. However, neither player can currently be relied on and it is unclear if that will change with either player going forward during the rest of the season.
The Cleveland Indians outfielders have been playing better, but that will not last forever. Why not acquire someone who can come in and provide that spark when the team’s play downgrades again?
Oakland A’s outfielder Josh Reddick, among others come to mind as a solid fit for the Tribe. He should not cost as much as one may expect –maybe just one minor AAA or AA minor leaguer? Besides, Oakland and Cleveland has traded with each other in recent season, perhaps another could be on the horizon.
Speaking of the A’s, if Cleveland cannot trade for their star reliever Sean Doolittle, but are able to acquire bullpen help, I would expect that player to an under the radar player no one thought to be dealt.

It will be tough to improve both of those areas of the roster, but if they can acquire at least one player for one of those spots, then that is a win. The other position will have options given the Indians’ ability to put players in multiple roles.
