In Cleveland Indians trade talk, these three players are worth selling the farm for, according to Factory of Sadness writer Ryan Landolph.

With the All-Star break in the past and the second half of the season already underway, the Cleveland Indians find themselves in a very favorable situation. With the best winning percentage in the American League’s and a record of 54-38, the Tribe leads the Central Division by 5.5 games (entering July 19) and sits firmly in a position to make the playoffs.

Even more impressively, the team has played extremely well without Michael Brantley in the lineup for nearly all of the season – he has appeared in just eleven games thus far.

However, even with how well the Indians have performed thus far, there are numerous spots on the roster that could be improved to position the team well for a deep playoff run.

Late last week, Factory of Sadness’s Ryan Rosko wrote a piece detailing why the Indians should deal one of their top prospects to acquire a veteran who will be a key piece of the team late in the season.

For a team that has predicated itself on building the roster with home-grown young guns and inexpensive veteran free agent additions, it is time for the Indians front office to pony up and make a run at a big-name player at the trade deadline.

The farm system is loaded with prospects all over the diamond – primarily in the outfield with Bradley Zimmer, Clint Frazier and Will Benson, as well as on the mound. Eventually, there will be too many of these high-profile prospects to fill out the roster, and some need to be moved at their peak to ensure maximum value is reciprocated.

With many teams likely to become sellers as the trade deadline approaches, here are a few players the Indians’ front office would be wise to sell the farm for.
