Jackson Is Going To Be Here For A Very Long Time

Torrelle Howard

Hue Jackson will be around for a long time to come. If I had to give an exact estimate, I would say the next decade! Despite some very questionable play-calling in the first quarter of Cleveland’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Jackson has done a phenomenal in his first year here.

He has helped bring in great players, stockpile draft picks, cut dead weight (in terms of older players that can not help the team improve), and established a culture all about winning here in Cleveland. If you’re calling for this dude’s job after one game, or even one season for that matter I think you’re crazy.

Cleveland is nowhere near being a competitor in the NFL. Last Sunday just confirmed that. We’re relying on Terrelle Pryor as our primary offensive weapon. While I think Pryor will eventually become a great wide receiver, that just shows how young and inexperienced this team is.

It will take time for the Browns to build that experience. Time is also needed to get the players to fix the holes on the roster (center, right tackle and the secondary come to mind).

As long as Jackson can manage to keep improving, he will eventually put together a great team. If that ends up being the case then he will be around for a while.
