Jose Ramirez

Jose Ramirez was the most clutch-hitter in baseball during the 2016 regular season. If the Indians are going to have a prayer, the 24-year-old third baseman will need to continue the trend.

Ramirez entered the final day of the regular season slashing .371/.429/.529 and 31 RBIs with runners in scoring position with two outs.

Writer Dan Szymborski analyzed Ramirez’s Win Probability Added (WPA). This statistic attempts to measure a player’s contribution to a win by figuring the factor by which each specific play made by that player has altered the outcome of a game.

“When comparing players’ actual WPA to their expected WPA, no player in baseball comes out better than Jose Ramirez,” the ESPN scribe wrote.
