The Tribe Heads To The World Series

For the first time since 1997, the Cleveland Indians will be playing in a World Series. Over the years they have had their chances, but 2016 is definitely the city’s year.

After winning the ALCS in five games, they will  follow in the footsteps of the winning pattern in the city; Most notably that of the Cleveland Cavaliers, among other championship winning teams and/or athletes. It will be a long time coming for the franchise who has not won a championship since 1948!

The key moving forward to getting them past certain spots as well as securing wins will be Miller. However, the pitching staff as a whole deserves more credit. Like in the ALDS, expect to see Miller used in a variety ways as they get through the game leading to closer Cody Allen.

For most of the Indians’ fanbase, a World Series championship is not something that has been witnessed. That same majority has those not so fond memories of Cleveland’s World Series appearances in the 1990’s. This year’s Cleveland Indians team will be different as it has the talent and coaching staff to make history and deliver a championship.

Cleveland has played the “underdog” very well and will continue to be viewed as such in the ALCS. That is not going to change when they end up earning a spot to play in the World Series. Speaking of World Series, whoever is their counterpart, a historic matchup will take place.

Whether that is the Chicago Cubs, who has not won a World Series since 1908 or the San Francisco Giants, who would be the latest Bay Area team to lose to Cleveland, exciting times await. Before then however, Cleveland must and will take care of business versus Toronto.
