Cleveland Browns: 4 Find Themselves In Dawg House
Who landed themselves inside the Cleveland Browns Dawg House this week? Let’s find out!
I think it’s safe to say that Tom Brady is back.
The New England Patriots annihilated the Cleveland Browns on Sunday in their worst lost of the season. Besides the Browns playing another round of quarterback roulette, nothing went right.
Brady came out and resumed business as usual. He threw for 406 yards, and three touchdowns. It was so bad, that back-up Jimmy Garoppolo got playing time towards the middle of the fourth quarter!
It just showed how far Cleveland has to go before they can even fathom being an elite team.
It was like watching the varsity squad going up against the freshmen team. I originally thought the Browns would shock the world and beat New England, but as soon as they moved the ball down the field with ease on the first possession, I quickly changed my mind.
The Browns usually play the Pats tough. In 2013, if not for a terrible pass interference call on Leon McFadden, Cleveland probably wins the game and gets into Wild Card contention.
However, Cleveland did get a win over Belichick when Eric Mangini was coaching back in 2010.
Either way, it was another bad loss, and it takes coach Hue Jackson back to the drawing board. The team defensively can’t get out of it’s own way–even though they did a good job on LeGarrette Blount, and there’s never any type of steady offense because the offensive line is a nightmare.
Isaiah Crowell was held to his lowest rushing performance of the season with only 22 yards on 13 carries. Malcom Brown had a lot to do with that as he continuously kept getting into the backfield and stopping Crowell. He’s one of the more underrated nose/defensive tackles in the NFL.
There really isn’t much more to say about this game. It was an ugly loss, and a lesson this young team was taught.
With not much going right, there were numerous player’s that underperformed in Week 5. Here are this week’s candidates for the Dawg House.
