Drew Storen, RP

A theme of the Dolan ownership has always been to find a reclamation project and try to squeeze whatever talent remains out of that asset.

With that in mind, relief pitcher Drew Storen is an intriguing name.

Once upon a time, Storen saved 43 games for the Washington Nationals in 2011. As recent as 2015, the Stanford product had 29 saves. But then his career imploded.

The Blue Jays were counting on Storen to be a major contributor out of the pen in 2016. He responded by posting a 6.21 ERA in 38 games.

President Mark Shapiro saw enough, trading Storen to the Mariners before the trade deadline.

While in Seattle, Storen put together two decent enough months that should have the Indians’ front office curious.

In August, Storen posted a 1.13 ERA, allowing just two walks in eight innings. Stored pitched the month of September with a 2.35 ERA. He walked no one and recorded nine strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.

Speaking of strikeouts,  Storen recorded 85 total punchouts through 80 innings of work combined between Toronto and Seattle. That part of his game is still there.

The Indians bought a lottery ticket based off what Mike Napoli did during the final two months of the 2015 season, and they should consider doing the same with Storen.
