Texas Rangers

Left field was a rotating door for the Rangers in 2016. Nine different players played the position.

The Rangers need a dependable player, and the 36-year-old Davis might be able to help the franchise solidify the position, at least in the short term.

Yoenis Cespedes seems like a logical fit, but he’s going to be looking to earn more than $27 million annually. If the Rangers are going to commit that type of money to someone, it’s probably going to be Yu Darvish.

The Rangers don’t have any MLB ready prospects to man the outfield next season, as the franchise mortgaged the future by trading Lewis Brinson and Ryan Cordell in the Jonathan Lucroy trade.

Davis would bring versatility to Texas. He can play every outfield position. The Rangers will be counting on Shin Soo-Choo to be healthy in 2017. If he is, Choo can move to right, and Nomar Maraza can move to left, while Davis mans center, which is really the position that demands a lot of attention.
