Cleveland Browns: 3 Players To Be Optimistic About For 2017
The winless Cleveland Browns limp into the bye week with little to hang their hat on, but it’s not all bad.
The Cleveland Browns (0-12) are by far the worst team in the NFL. Head coach Hue Jackson is feeling the heat and nearly broke down at last week’s post game presser.
Hence, it’s been bad. Sunday’s loss (27-13) to the New York Giants was abysmal, to say the least. The reported attendance was 60,034 at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Despite that figure, there is no way that many people attended Sunday’s contest. Even if that number is correct, large contingents of fans wearing Giants-blue dominated the stadium’s lower bowl by halftime.
It wasn’t a pleasant sight. I thought I knew how 0-12 would feel during a complete rebuild, but I was wrong. I struggle week-to-week to come up with positives stemming from the product on the field.
With that being said, the disgusting loss to the Giants and the sea of blue put me in a fantastic place. It really, truly cannot get any worse than this. Whether or not this whole “plan” by the the new regime works out or not, Jackson was forced to dress– and play– 18 rookies last Sunday.
Positives can be found by viewing individual players. That’s what the 2016 season is about for the Browns, right? Finding and evaluating talent so they know what to look for in the 2017 Draft? Three standout players have impressed me heading into the bye week.
