With the Cleveland Browns eyeing the 2017 NFL Draft, the front office better have these Ohio State Buckeyes on their radar.

Ohio State players? Who needs ’em!? That was the attitude of the Cleveland Browns front office during the 2016 NFL Draft.

The Browns had 14 draft picks, and 12 Buckeyes were selected. You’d think somewhere along the lines, Sashi Brown and the Harvard brain trust would’ve taken a member of the Scarlet and Gray.

Urban Meyer’s built Ohio State into one of the most prominent programs in the country because he gets elite players who possess size, speed and strength.

In a game like football, that’s supposed to be a good thing, right?

But the Browns went full-blown Clowns and passed on every Buckeye.

Brown was asked about bypassing the Bucks, and the newly minted Executive Vice President stated that it just didn’t work out in a way the Browns were in position to draft a player they like from Ohio State.

Wrong.

That Ezekiel Elliott kid? Turns out he’s OK. Zeke’s not just a Rookie of the Year candidate, but he’s also on the short list for MVP. The Cowboys happily took him at No. 4. That edge rusher the Browns have been endlessly searching for in the 3-4? How would Joey Bosa look in an orange helmet? He went third to San Diego.

The Browns could’ve had either one of these men, but instead decided to trade down from No. 2 to No. 15 for a 5-foot-11 wideout. We still don’t know if Corey Coleman can be a great player, but it didn’t take us long to find out that Zeke and Bosa can play.

Bosa, who missed all of training camp in a contract dispute, is already the fifth rated edge defender on Pro Football Focus. Zeke is rated as the No. 1 running back.

Not sad enough? If Sashi and Paul DePodesta had fired up their smartphones, they’ve would seen every mock draft in the world awarding Michael Thomas to Cleveland in the second round.

Size and ability!? God forbid the Factory of Sadness turn into a happy place.

To save the Harvard educated office front office some work, I’m going to take my two lowly Kent State degrees and tell the Browns which Buckeyes would make their team better.
