The Ohio State Buckeyes are back in the College Football Playoff. Although the Ohio State and Clemson are familiar with one another, it is anyone’s guess who will end up as champion.

Bowl season is fast approaching. Ohio State overcame not winning neither their division or their conference, but still made it into the playoff. Thanks to their multiple wins over top 10 teams Ohio State is now in the position they are in.

The Buckeyes won the first playoff two years ago and will look to end up with another championship. That would be great and what is even more impressive is how young Ohio State is given what they have accomplished this season.

So, who will win this year’s College Football Playoff? Members of the FoS team gave their predictions.

Saban vs Meyer

Torrelle Howard

A rematch between Ohio State and Alabama is inevitable. Washington is a great team but they don’t have the man power up front to hang with Alabama for 60 minutes.

Clemson does not have a great defense and I expect J.T. Barrett and Mike Weber to take advantage of that. On the flip side, Deshaun Watson has yet to play a defense of the same caliber as the Buckeyes’ defense. So, I expect him to struggle and Ohio State will win that game.

When it comes to the OSU/Bama national championship, it will come down to who is better in the trenches. With that said, that advantage goes slightly to Alabama. Ohio State gave away that advantage the last time these two teams met.

On the other hand, Ohio State was able to beat them deep via Cardale Jones‘ arm and Devin Smith‘s blazing fast vertical speed. Unfortunately, those two players are in the NFL and the Buckeyes have yet to find an arm as strong as Jones’ or a WR with the kind of speed Smith had in Columbus, Ohio.

For those two reasons Alabama will beat Ohio State in the National Championship.
