Ohio State Buckeyes: Where Will They Finish In 2017?
After a devastating loss in the Fiesta Bowl and some star players announcing for the draft, where will Ohio State finish next season?
The Ohio State Buckeyes still have one of the greatest coaches in the country in Urban Meyer, and they still have starting quarterback J.T. Barrett under center. Just this week though, a few Buckeyes have decided to declare for the draft.
Among the players are wide receiver Noah Brown and H-Back Curtis Samuel so far. Brown is best known for his performance against Oklahoma where he scored four touchdowns, including an amazing catch while hugging his defender.
After that game though, Brown lacked in big play-types of catches and his numbers simmered down. Samuel on the other hand was a big threat all season.

Samuel is best known for his game winning touchdown catch against Michigan. He also is Barrett’s favorite target. That said, both players have helped out quite a bit this season, combining for a total of 22 touchdowns.
As mentioned, the Buckeyes still held onto Barrett, who is coming off a good year. Barrett had 24 touchdowns and only seven interceptions in 2016. Not to mention, head coach Urban Meyer will be back for another exciting season and his play-calling and recruiting is some of the best in the country.
Twitter’s Opinion
So after carefully thinking this out I decided that Ohio State could easily rebuild and find themselves right back in the playoffs again next year. In addition, I decided to poll Twitter on the subject to find out other opinions.
The results were quite surprising as 56% thought that the Buckeyes would miss out on the playoffs all together. Some I believe are going back to the fact that they will be losing some key players to the draft.
The loss from the Fiesta Bowl may still be fresh for a lot of Buckeyes fans as well. You can’t doubt Meyer though and with a long offseason ahead, the restock is on.
The Buckeyes are still bringing back some key elements as well. Running back Mike Weber will only be a sophomore next year and after the season he had, things are pretty safe in the running game.
Next: Thank Goodness For The OSU Turnover!
The strong core that the Buckeyes always present is perfect for any freshman who will be playing collegiality in 2017 and beyond. The turmoil of this season is behind them now and what lies ahead is in the hands of Meyer and the rest of the Buckeyes staff.
