Cleveland Browns Free Agents: 5 Landing Spots For Terrelle Pryor
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Mike Evans is Mike Evans, and that’s all well and good for Jameis Winston, but that doesn’t mean the former Heisman winner couldn’t use some help.
Some might be hesitant to call Pryor a No. 1 receiver because there’s a sect that probably doesn’t believe he won’t consistently produce as he did in 2016.
But inn Tampa, Pryor won’t have the pressure of being a No. 1 receiver, because of Evans.
With an unsettled quarterback situation in Cleveland, Pryor might find it to be in his best interest to play elsewhere and Winston is one of the NFL’s brightest up-and-coming stars.
During his great season with the Browns, Pryor’s production really suffered when Robert Griffin quarterbacked. In the five games the two played together, Griffin and Pryor produced the following receiving totals: 68, 3, 19, 36, 94.
Pryor also tallied seven games in which he was targeted more than 10 times. It happened just once in the five games he and RG3 were on the field together (the finale at Pittsburgh), so you may understand why Pryor might seek an upgrade at the quarterback position.
The Buccaneers pick 19th in the 2017 NFL Draft, and the team has more pressing needs on defense. Adding a defensive lineman and/or a safety will likely be the top priority.
If that’s the route Tampa takes, they should seek to add a receiver via free agency, and Pryor would be an ideal fit. The Bucs are well positioned to make a run at whomever they’d like during free agency, with an NFL high $67 million in cap space.
