One ESPN NBA analyst does not believe Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love has a future with the defending champs.

The NBA trade deadline will be here before we know it. With how the Cleveland Cavaliers have been playing, making some changes are needed, but how they go about making them is what will keep fans guessing.

One player who has been in recent trade talks is power forward Kevin Love, but no trade should include him. That said, Cleveland should keep all their options open, but Love has been playing great over the last couple months.

He finally appears comfortable in the Cavs’ offense. Plus, Love is a key reason why Cleveland should turn their play around as they look to win back to back championships later this year.

With so much speculation on Love’s future, the debates will not end any time soon. Most recently, he has been the subject as a major trade chip for New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony.

More from Factory of Sadness

Rumors of a potential trade and other what ifs won’t end until the Cavaliers either a) moves Love or b) hold onto him and trade others for more talent. If I were a betting man, I’d believe the “b” route ends up happening.

Cleveland gave up small forward and rising star Andrew Wiggins for the veteran forward. It is hard imagining the Cavs trading Love away in the coming weeks.

That is a strong opinion and belief, but on NBA Countdown ESPN NBA analyst Jalen Rose did not share that same thought process. Not only that, but Rose also has some strong feelings as a whole regarding Love’s future with Cleveland:

Rose may very well be right in the end. Despite what could be, the reality is that trading away Love and acquiring Anthony does not guarantee more success or a better chance of winning the championship again. On the other hand, if the Cavaliers were to acquire Anthony without giving up Love, then that is a different story.

Forward LeBron James has been very vocal about how Cleveland should improve their roster. Anthony is his friend but the Cavs can’t afford to wait for Anthony to gel with the team.

Sure, acquiring the Knicks star would be a step forward, assuming of course Love is not part of the deal. At the end of the day, this is not a move that is a sure thing that outweighs the risks from rewards.
