Brock Osweiler Finally Visited Cleveland Browns Headquarters
The Cleveland Browns finally brought in quarterback Brock Osweiler to their headquarters but chances are you didn’t know it.
No one expects Brock Osweiler to be on the Cleveland Browns roster in 2017, but here’s the thing: He’s still here and on the books for $16 million this season.
What’s a Browns front office to do? Especially since moments after trading for Osweiler March 9, Cleveland made it be known that it was looking to trade or release the veteran, according to reports. It’s like the front office was in such a hurry to show how smart they were by also picking up a second-round pick, they devalued an asset.
Yes, Osweiler is an asset. Some team would want him. Have you seen some of the contracts thrown around? Mike Glennon will make eight figures. What a country. What a sport. Moms, raise your kids to be quarterbacks.
It was reported there was some interest in Osweiler, but considering that it came out the Browns would probably cut him, there was no sense of urgency to act.
So there was no press conference, no meet and greet with the media. No quarterback holding up his new jersey at the podium. Instead, the former Bronco and Texan went on with his life, participating in a charity gold tournament. When asked about the Browns, Osweiler said there was “no news.”

Luckily for Brock, the Browns are warming up a little. Osweiler reportedly visited Browns headquarters last week, and he’s got a page on the team’s official website, although there still isn’t a picture.
At this point, I’m not opposed to starting the season with Osweiler on the roster IF the Browns draft a quarterback in the first or second round. Osweiler’s 13-8 in his career as a starter. He certainly a lot better than some of the men who’ve taken snaps under center on the north shore. Plus, it’s not like the Browns are hurting for cash. They’ve got the cap room to keep him around, and it’s not my money!
John Elway thought enough of this kid to try and re-sign him before he left for Houston. Shouldn’t the idea of brining him to OTAs and camp at least tempt the Browns hierarchy? Additionally, look what Hue Jackson does for quarterbacks who are forced on him. He helped Andy Dalton develop into a quarterback who routinely has his team competing for a playoff spot.
