Even if in the 7th round, if a team drafts a kicker, that player has to has a head start for winning the starting job.
So get to know Arizona State product Zane Gonzalez, folks.
And if your’e a regular reader on the Factory of Sadness, you know fellow site expert Ryan Rosko nailed the Browns’ selection of Gonzalez.
Here’s what Rosko wrote in February:
"Not only would Gonzalez be cheaper, he is more consistent, reliable and has a stronger leg than Parkey. Gonzalez also has the record for the most made field goals (96) in FBS history."
It’s kind of cool Gonzalez is coming to the Browns as the reigning Lou Groza Award winner, which is giving annually to college football’s best kicker.
Gonzalez brings a big leg to Cleveland, and has earned the nickname “Legatron.”
