The Cleveland Cavaliers will play the Boston Celtics in the NBA playoffs, with the winner advancing to the NBA Finals. Here’s five reasons the Cavs will win.

The Boston Celtics are the only thing keeping the Cleveland Cavaliers from their third straight appearance in the NBA Finals.

With the Cavs slumping toward the end of the regular season, some started to wonder if the Celtics and Isaiah Thomas actually had a shot of knocking off the Cavs.

But then, April 5 happened. The Cavs went into TD Bank Garden and spanked the Celtics, 114-91 behind a dominating performance from LeBron James.

However, when it appeared as if the Cavs had turned the corner with the decisive victory, the team continued to limp toward finish line, losing the No. 1 seed to the Celtics in the process.

Now, the two teams meet in the Eastern Conference Finals and the Cavs inability to get it together at the end of the regular season means something, because homecourt belongs to Boston.

But even though Boston is the No. 1 seed and owns homecourt, Cleveland should have no problem disposing of a team they went 3-1 against during the regular season. Three of those four contests were close, with the finale being a decisive victory for the Cavs.

Here’s why the Cavs will eliminate Boston for the right to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals.
