7. Lorenzo Cain, CF, Royals

Fanragsports.com’s Jon Heyman wrote about a possible package of Lorenzo Cain and Kevin Herrera.

It would cost the Indians a fortune in prospects, but wow, would it be something to see as the Tribe looks to break the longest active World Series drought in the major leagues.

"“He’s almost certainly gone after the year. The Nats could make sense if Michael Taylor doesn’t do the job. ‘Could see a Cain-Herrera combo to Washington,’ one rival GM guesses,” Heyman wrote."

Fan graphs.com rates Cain as the fifth best defensive center fielder in MLB heading into Memorial Day.

Cain’s making $11 million this season and will be a free agent after this season.

Zimmer should continue to get looks in center, but Austin Jackson will be evaluated now, too, since he’s been activated off the DL.

It’s a small sample size, but Zimmer currently rates as the 27th best defensive center fielder to have at least played 70 innings this season.

Again, Cain would be a rental, but the Indians centerfielders rate 30th (dead last) among center fielders. His presence could let the Tribe check Zimmer out in right field, while Brantley continues to regain his form in left.
