More accolades have been given to Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving.

Tonight, the Cleveland Cavaliers will begin their 2017 NBA Finals series versus the Golden State Warriors for the third consecutive season. That is the most important focus anyone can think about at this time.

However, it always is a good thing to see and read about when Cleveland players are awarded for their play on the court.

According to NBA 2K 2K18’s Twitter account, the franchise has named point guard Kyrie Irving as their choice to be their cover for their main video game this fall.

Irving joins former Cavaliers center Shaquille O’Neal as the cover players on their upcoming video games. O’Neal will be the cover player for the legend edition of the NBA2K18 video game.

If you  need a reason to buy the newest 2K video game or buy a NBA game for the first time, having Irving on the cover should be persuasive enough to put it over the top. I, myself focuses and prefers the dynasty option when I play sports games, but whatever your preference is, be sure to check this game out!

In the tweet listed above is a link with information if you would like to pre-order the game.

Irving won the championship last season and if all falls into place will win it again later this month. Not only that, but each year Irving has continued to excel. According to basketball-reference.com, Irving averaged 25.2 points, 5.8 assists this season. Over the course of his career, Irving has averaged 21.6 points and 5.5 assists.

In addition, Irving has appeared in four all-star games and was a member of the All-Rookie First Team in 2011-12 and All-NBA Third Team in 2014-15. Not only that, but he also was named as the 2011-12 Rookie of the Year, 2014 all-star game MVP, and was the 2012-13 Three-Point contest winner.

Irving’s resume speaks for itself and was very deserving of this recognition. Other very good players like Chicago Bulls swingman Jimmy Butler and San Antonio Spurs small forward Kawhi Leonard also would have been good choices.
