The Cleveland Indians seemed poised to make some sort of deal before the MLB trade deadline July 31. Here’s a player from each team the Tribe should be targeting.

The Cleveland Indians got off to a rough start after the All-Star break, with unspectacular 1-5 mark against two of the worst teams in baseball (the A’s and Giants). But entering July 26, the Tribe has won five straight.

What moves could the Indians make to secure the franchise’s first championship since 1948?

There’s not one glaring position of need, but the Tribe could use upgrades in the back end of the rotation, and it’s been rumored the organization is looking for help at second base, as well as right field.

What if the Indians could target a player on each big league team? Of course it’s not feasible, but wonder if it were. For contending teams, I tried to place the most realistic trade option for the club. For example, imagine the Yankees, who are contending, but ahead of schedule. Perhaps they’d be open to trading a veteran because their front offices views their window to really open up beginning next season.

It’s not a perfect science, in fact, it’s not scientific at all, but talking trades is supposed to be fun.

With that said, here’s who the Indians should target.
