1. Pick your reliever, Angels: The Angels stink and they aren’t going to trade Mike Trout, nor will their front office move a young reliever who is under control such as Cam Bedrosian, unless another organization overvalues him.

The Angels are much more likely to trade relievers Bud Norris, Yusmeiro Petit and David Hernandez, who can be free agents at season’s end. All are right handers and pitching well. Norris is pitching his first season as a closer, and he’s saved 15 games this season.

All of these relievers would be rentals as all can be free agents.

2. Sonny Gray, SP, A’s: Danny Salazar‘s recent return to the big leagues makes this less likely, but Gray’s pitching like the Gray of old. Corey Kluber, Carlos Carrasco, Sonny Gray and Salazar? Nobody beats that in October.

3. Jarrod Dyson, OF, Mariners: Seattle’s a tough team to try and trade with. They’re not winning anything this season, but GM Jerry DiPoto is out there trying to make a deal for Sonny Gray. Acquiring Dyson won’t steal the headlines, but he can play left and center and he’s a threat on the basepaths, posting 22 steals in 2017. Dyson picked up a World Series ring as a member of the Royals in 2015.

4. Yu Darvish, SP, Rangers: Texas is looking to move its ace “for the right deal.” For the Indians, that may include the club’s top prospects for what would be a rental, because it would be unlike the Tribe to re-sign the 30-year-old, who is going to command millions and millions of dollars as a free agent this offseason.
