Need a late round alternative in fantasy football drafts? Look no forward to two of the Cleveland Browns’ wide receivers.

In 2017, the only sure-fire Cleveland Browns‘ fantasy option (outside of their defense/ST) is running back Isaiah Crowell. Given your league’s point settings and format, other players such as wide receivers Kenny Britt and Corey Coleman could be intriguing options.

Looking to the future though, the number of options will increase thanks to quarterback DeShone Kizer and tight end David Njoku. In the meantime, when your draft is wrapping up and there is still a need to fill — whether that be a FLEX or wide receiver, two other Browns’ wide receivers should be of interest.

They are Ricardo Louis and Rashard Higgins. Based off a pure standard fantasy format, those two should make more plays than many expects.

Why? Britt was brought in to be Cleveland’s No.1 WR, but he only has accumulated one 1,000+ yard season. Coleman has had his difficulties staying healthy and making an impact.

Thus, opposing defenses will load the box when they can versus Crowell. When they don’t, will Britt and/Coleman provide enough plays in the passing game? They could, but I am not completely confident in that yet.

As a result, Louis or Higgins, maybe both could be a late-round steal! The question though is which one?

Both were listed second stringers in Cleveland’s unofficial depth chart prior to Thursday’s preseason game versus the New Orleans Saints. From what I have seen at camp, via video, and have read, Louis appears to have the upper hand at the moment. Things could easily change, but Louis’ play so far has been great to see.

According to pro-football-reference.com, Louis racked up 18 passes for 205 yards last season. Higgins on the other hand, had just six receptions for 77 yards!

By no means is either’s production expected to jump significantly. However, both have a lot of work to do to show enough consistency to be relied upon regularly.

At this point of time, Louis should be the the way to go between the two. Once the New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers games are played, then we will have a better idea of their roles this season.

Next: A lot to like but it is still too early

If you are determined to select a WR-sleeper late, Higgins and Louis will be worth looking into. Just remember, to get great value from one of them, likely Louis, is to draft them in the 14th/15th rounds.
