The home-run ball helped propel the Cleveland Indians to five straight wins, as the Tribe is a season best 18 games over .500.

The Cleveland Indians are on a four-game win streak and the long ball has helped them win a lot of those games. The fun all started four days ago when the Indians dismantled the Red Sox with a total of 13 runs, two of those being home runs. The rest of the week has been the same featuring home runs from Francisco Lindor, Edwin Encarnacion, Carlos Santana, and Yan Gomes.

Home runs kept flying out of Progressive Field during the Indians series opener against Kansas City last Friday.

Roberto Perez homered in the sixth to take the lead. The seventh inning featured home runs from Encarnacion and Santana to help secure the victory over the royals 4-0.

The second game of the series was the quietest featuring only 1 home run from Lindor later in the game to help secure another victory.

The most recent of the victories came in the third game of the series where the Indians totaled 12 runs in just two innings of play. The brunt of those runs came in the 2nd inning with a total of 3 home runs.

Lindor kicked things off with a two-run home run to make the score 5-0. Carlos Santana helped to increase the lead with a 3-run home run later that inning to make the lead 8-0. The inning didnt end there though as Yan Gomes capped it all off with a powerful Grand Slam to make the lead 12-0. The score didnt alter any the rest of the game and the Indians walked away with the victory very easily.

The Indians didnt slow down at all as they cruised into New York for their first game against the Yankees. Jose Ramirez homered in the first inning and then again in the sixth. The next bomb came in the seventh inning via Carlos Santana. Santana has now hit three home runs in his last three starts. The last of the home runs came in the eighth, courtesy of Austin Jackson.

King Of The Home Runs

Thus far,  the Tribe’s King Longball has been Fransisco Lindor, who’s cracked four home runs in his last five games played. Lindor has shown that he has the power to change the outcome of the game with a single swing of the bat.

The Indians had 12 home runs in their last five games and show no signs of slowing down.

The roster has been quite diverse with hitting the longball and doesnt circulate around one player. Each game features a new set of players who have launched the ball into the stands. With the postseason quickly approaching the Indians could end a lot of games early with a barrage of Home Runs.
