Ohio State kicks off their season against Indiana and here are 5 bold predictions heading into the season opener.

When ESPN’s College Gameday opens up this season, the crew will be in Bloomington, Ind. to watch the Indiana Hoosiers host the Ohio State Buckeyes. But it isn’t going to be your typical Saturday night Big Ten showdown. The Buckeyes will take on the Hoosiers on a Thursday night.

For the Buckeyes this shouldn’t be anything but a warm up game for week 2 against the Oklahoma Sooners. Ohio State is predicated by many to be in the final 4 when the end of the season rolls around. This season is however is not going to be a walk in the park.

The Big Ten is finally making its presence felt in the college football world. Ever since the start of the playoff format, the Big Ten has been pushing to put 2 teams in the playoffs. Could 2017 finally be the year? Between Penn State and Ohio State, it very well may just happen.

As much hype as the Buckeyes have around them, it is going to be just as easy for them to fall

For the Hoosiers though, they are going to be on the opposite side of former head coach, Kevin Wilson. Wilson is now the offensive coordinator and tight end’s coach for the Buckeyes. Wilson was hired in 2010 by the Hoosiers and after going only 1-11 in his first year, Wilson improved to 6-6 in his final year.

Out of all the matchups on the opening week schedule, this could be one of the most interesting. The Indiana Hoosiers have the talent to pull off an upset, but they do not have the depth compared to the Buckeyes.
