5 Ohio State predictions with Oklahoma coming to the Horseshoe

3. Baker Mayfield will throw for fewer than 200 passing yards
There is no doubt Ohio State’s secondary had a rough go of it in the first week. Richard Lagow torched them for over 400 yards, granted the receivers made some spectacular catches at times, Lagow pretty much had his way with the Buckeyes secondary.
Now Richard Lagow isn’t a Baker Mayfield. So things could get ugly quick if the Buckeyes aren’t capable of at least containing Mayfield. It is going to be nearly impossible to completely stop him, so the next best thing would be to at least contain him.
The Buckeyes are going to need all the help they can get it, a big help is the Sooners graduated their top receiver from the previous year in Dede Westbrook.
It isn’t going to be a cake walk by any stretch but the defensive line should ease the burden on the defensive secondary.
The speed and just pure talent the defensive front provides for Ohio State is outright dominant. This will force Mayfield to feel rushed a good amount of the time which hopefully forcing hm to feel panicked with the ball and throw passes that end up in the Buckeyes hands.
This was this group off defensive backs first game as a whole. Of course they are not going to look like DBU like they have in previous years. Great things take time, and this will be the week they are asked to step up in a big way.
With the pressure from the defensive line, the defensive backs are going to feel a lot less pressure and free up room for them to make plays. Forcing Mayfield to throw 2 picks to the Buckeyes defense.
