The Ohio State Buckeyes will be hosting the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday night. What better way to greet the fans in the home opener than welcoming a top-five opponent?

The rematch is here and the stage is set. Ohio Stadium will be rocking on Saturday night as returning Heisman hopeful quarterback Baker Mayfield and the Oklahoma Sooners look to avenge last season’s brutal loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes on their home turf.

Though it was a high profile matchup last season, the bar is raised even higher this season as this meeting is a legit top-five showdown. The Buckeyes remain the second ranked team in the country and the Sooners ascended to fifth during this week.

As the Sooners found out last season, their title hopes can end sooner than later in key matchups like this early on. One loss is the difference between a playoff berth and a season to be forgotten on this level.

This game will feature two quarterbacks entering their final seasons who are going to put everything on the line. Both have been to the playoffs before, but a championship is now something that is well within reach. Mayfield and J.T. Barrett will have the opportunity to prove who is the most worthy contender.
