Cleveland Cavaliers: 5 players to target with Nets pick in 2018 NBA Draft
Collin Sexton, PG, Alabama
With the Cavs’ point guard situation now in flux thanks to Kyrie Irving‘s tree demand and questions surrounding the health of Isaiah Thomas, selecting a new floor general may be critical to Cleveland next summer.
If that’s the case, Collin Sexton, an Alabama signee, may be what ails.
The thing you’ve got to like most about Sexton, who was a McDonald’s All-American, is his tenaciousness. He’s always willing to attack, whether it be on offense, or defense.

He’s a volume scorer, and he’s someone who will grab some rebounds on defense so he can lead the fast break going the other way. He can also be hard to track on the offensive glass. Look for the 6-foot-3 guard to help on the offensive rebound by putting up some second-chance opportunities.
He can hit 3-pointers, although he’s an inconsistent shooter. Prior to his first college season, Sexton shot from beyond the arc should best viewed from the world of NBA Jam. He’s either on fire, or there are times, he can’t buy a bucket.
Sexton can bring scoring to the Cavs’ backcourt, but he also possesses the potential to be a defensive asset.
Currently, Sexton would be picked No. 8 in the draft, if it were up to DraftExpress.com. The college game thrives off guard play, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Sexton’s stock rise heading into March.
