Browns at Colts, Week 3 TV schedule, coverage map and game nuggets as Cleveland opens as the road favorite for the first time since 2014.

Browns at Colts is being viewed as the worst game by a lot of pundits, but for card carrying members of the Dawg Pound, that’s nonsense. This is the only game that matters!

The Browns have a great shot to get their first win of the season, so here’s how you can watch.

This game will be broadcast in most of Ohio and Indiana, but not a whole lot of other places. It tells you what the national media thinks of this game.

The southwest part of Ohio will be forced to watch the Squealers take on the Bears. Talk about a dog game. Does anyone expect that one to be competitive?

At the very least, the Browns at Colts contest should be a close one.

Beth Mowins and former Falcons quarterback Jay Feely will have the call for CBS. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.

Game nuggets:

1. Jordan Leslie‘s promotion to the active roster is a testament to hard work, determination, and grit. Let’s say he has a great day. Hopefully he does.

What the heck does that say about the front office, that they cut two productive receivers!?

2. Hopefully Leslie shows up and shows out. Forget the Kenny Britt drop and try to focus on his season as a whole. Another one-catch game should mean a demotion.

3. Ideally Hue Jackson will hand the ball to Isaiah Crowell a little bit more, but how often will it happen? ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Grossi predicted just 12 to 15 times. If the Crow looks slow, I’d go with Duke Johnson.

4. Speaking of The Duke, I’m done with him as a slot receiver. Let him carry the ball. He averaged 5.3 yards on four attempts in Week 2’s debacle in Baltimore.

5. It will be interesting to see how the coaches play Jabrill Peppers today. Will he be 30 yards off the ball? Gregg Williams and Hue Jackson dug in on the move, with both asking the media how many deep balls they’ve given up.

These men are at the highest rung of their profession, so it’s no surprise they won’t admit to being wrong to a bunch of reporters. But they’ve got to see that the Browns turned Moses, I mean Benjamin Watson, into prime Rob Gronkowski last week.

6. DeShone Kizer‘s can take a big step in his development as a franchise quarterback during the next three games, and it starts with playing well against the Colts.

Finally, a media company has figured out how to best utilize Bernie Kosar‘s talents. I could sit and listen to Bernie break down film all day, and he’s doing it for WEWS-TV.

Kosar broke down some footage of Carson Palmer facing the Colts last week, and noted that even a veteran such as Palmer needs to look at other receivers, or he’ll be picked off by free safety Malik Hooker.

Watch Kizer. Does he move his head? Does he look elsewhere, or is he staring his targets down. It will be an intriguing sub plot line to watch.

7. The Browns defensive line has three sacks in two games. The Colts have given up eight sacks. Time for the d-line to produce, even without Myles Garrett.

8. James Burgess gets the start at linebacker for Jamie Collins. He’s now one of four players starting for the Browns who was cut by another team (Trevon Coley, Brian Boddy-Calhoun, Jamie Meder).

9. You got the sense listening to Hue Jackson during the week that he was on the defensive. Some in the media are talking about the Browns need to hire an offensive coordinator. Of course that’s an insult to Hue. His offensive brilliance is why the Browns hired him.

These next three games are the biggest of Jacksons’ short time in Cleveland. Can they avoid the penalties that constantly put them in 3rd-and-deep situations. It’d be hard for any offensive guru to compete when he’s constantly staring down 3rd and 12 with a rookie quarterback.

Prediction: I’ve seen the Browns play games like this where they’re supposed to win, yet find a way to lose. Colts win, 14-13.
