The Ohio State Buckeyes will be on the road this weekend to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

The Buckeyes will be taking center stage once again as the Cornhuskers will be their second road opponent under the lights in a three week span. So far, the Bucks are 2-1 in night games with the two wins coming on the road. Nebraska will be a new challenge but nothing that poses an immediate threat to Ohio State.

Nebraska hails from the Big Ten West where the Bucks have had a great deal of success. The Wisconsin Badgers have been the top dogs in the west as of recent but even they have failed to defeat the Bucks for quite some time. The Cornhuskers are currently second in their division with a 1-1 record and have a 2-1 record in the Big Ten overall.

Another impressive performance from the Buckeyes keeps them at the top of the Big Ten with a 3-0 conference record. The Buckeyes continued to take care of business last week as they easily dispatched a hobbled Maryland team. This is now the Bucks’ third consecutive win of over 30+ points.

The Buckeyes are playing at an extremely high level right now and that shouldn’t surprise anyone. It was expected that the team would struggle a bit in the beginning considering the changes with the coaching staff and positional growing pains.

The pack of inexperienced players Ohio State started to begin the season have actually developed relatively quickly. The same couldn’t be said last season as we didn’t see half of the offensive players until it was too late.

It has now gotten to the point that there is some consistency in a variety of areas. This includes a dynamic receiving corps and a solid defense. The Bucks have now scored well over 50 points in each of their last three games and have continued to best their highest score in each contest.

Possibly the best takeaway from all of this is the fact that the Bucks are no longer beating themselves. They are forcing their opponents to play their best in order to beat them.

As with any other opponent, Nebraska will be bringing their absolute best game to the field on Saturday night when the Buckeyes come into town. Ohio State is trending in the right direction as they enter their fourth Big Ten matchup on the season.

This game presents a great opportunity for the scarlet and gray with a ton of momentum before the bye week. Also, this game provides them with another chance to prove their worth to the world with another victory on the road in prime time.
