In Cleveland Browns rumors, Peyton Manning was seen in Cleveland last week, which coincides with the Browns rumors that the front office may altered.

Peyton Manning was spotted in Cleveland, as confirmed by WKYC-TV, or known at my Mom’s house as, “Channel 3.”

If Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam do intend to make front office changes, it would make sense to start putting feelers out now.

Manning revealed to The MMQB’s Peter King that he would like to coach again.

What was Manning doing in Cleveland? No one knows except for him, but it certainly can’t be a coincidence that he was here at the same time Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reported that the Haslams were looking into front office changes.

Manning would give instant credibility to a Browns organization that has become joke ever sense the organization’s lawyer, Sashi Brown, was promoted to be the vice president of football operations.

It sounds crazy today, as it did back then.

My wife happens to be an attorney. She’d be just as qualified!

Scrapping the Mike Pettine-Ray Farmer era and relying on analytics basically because nothing else had worked in the past was best summed up by ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Grossi.

More from Factory of Sadness

“Bizarre at best, insane at worst,” Grossi said on the ESPN Cleveland airwaves.

As the Browns toil at 1-21 under their new regime, the idea of professional football in Cleveland gets more insane by the second.

Some may have reservations about Manning being another Mike Holmgren. The former coach of the Green Bay Pakcers was happy to collect checks from Randy Lerner while the product on the field continued to stink.

Manning will be different, though, because he’s younger, and he has something to prove. Everyone’s been waiting to see what Peyton’s next chapter in life will hold, and it would be a great embarrassment for Manning to pull what Holmgren pulled here.

He has the football smarts to recognize talent, and he’s seen first hand how John Elway built a winner in Denver.

Hopefully, the WKYC-TV report of Manning being in Cleveland is true, and hopefully, it leads to No. 18 taking a front office job with the Browns.
