2. We’re still smart

Just a Kent State education here, but I’d have taken Wentz at No. 2 ( I wanted Goff). None the less, he was gone, and Wentz was the next best quarterback option.

Easy-peasy. Right?

Nope, the Browns traded down, and with Wentz on the verge of winning the MVP and the Eagles look like the Super Bowl contenders, you can officially mark Philadelphia down as the winners of that deal.

The Browns executive vice president of football operations still won’t admit to being wrong, although he probably came as close as he would to doing it.

"“I don’t shy away from missed opportunities at all. That’s going to be a piece of it. There’s a lot of non-quarterbacks out there frankly that are playing well right now too that we’d love to have on our team. But we’re not going to get every one right. We haven’t and we won’t moving forward. We will get enough of them right and we will solve the quarterback position here.”"

So he “missed on Wentz,  Browns Town. Forget the potential MVP, there’s “a lot” of non-quarterbacks out there he’d love to have.

To cap it all off, Browns said trading down wasn’t the problem, rather the executive said “evaluation” was. In what world should the fan base have confidence he will ever find a franchise quarterback?

The average Joe would’ve done a better job buying a draft guide from Walgreens.

To ignore the position that has paralyzed this franchise since 1999 is inexcusable, and the fan base shouldn’t have any confidence in Brown to get it right.
