Kenny Lofton, The Mayor

Kenny Lofton is just too good to pass up. His baseball skills trumped Alex Cole, but he still trailed the Rec-Specked one when it came to facial hair.

Still, Lofton’s pencil thin ‘stache, fit Lofton’s personality well. But the fact that Alex Cole’s mustache is still memorable says everything you need to know about this position battle.

Lofton was one of the best centerfielders in baseball. He was the prototypical leadoff hitter, and his defense…well, fans still talk about it.

When Austin Jackson leaped over the wall at Fenway Park during the 2017 regular season, many fans brought up the one catch that could compare: Lofton going vertical to rob a would-be home run.

He didn’t have the most memorable of mustaches, but he’s one of the few players who’s play totally outshines what was growing on his face.

Lofton came back to the Tribe in 2007, and played left field on a team that won the Central.

I still feel like I got kicked in gut when thinking of Joel Skinner stopping Lofton at third base in the final game of the ALCS, a loss to the Red Sox.
