In Cleveland Indians prospect talk, these five prospects saw their stocks surge thanks to a great 2017 season on the Tribe’s Minor League trail.

Minor League development is very important to a team such as the Cleveland Indians. The Tribe just doesn’t have the payroll to overpay when it makes a mistake.

Many Wahoo faithful were excited when the Tribe signed Edwin Encarnacion last season, but his addition more the exception, than the rule.

Cleveland must build through the draft and through international free agent signings to remain competitive, because without strong minor league system, the Tribe would be…well, just look at the Indians’ record between 1960 and the late 1980s.

Heading into the 2018 season, there’s reason to be especially high on the Tribe’ minor league outfit. On the big league club, homegrown talent such as Jason Kipnis, Francisco Lindor,  Jose Ramirez, and Cody Allen are big-time difference makers.

Interestingly enough, the Tribe’s farm system was recently rated 20th out of Major League Baseball’s 30 teams.

No one wants to be in the bottom half, but with the big league club in “win now” mode, things could be worse. on the bright side, the Tribe still possesses elite talents like Francisco Mejia and Triston McKenzie.

So, who’s on the rise in the Tribe’s system?

These prospects saw their stocks rise the most according to MLBpipleline.com.
