No one has hit more homers in a season than Jim Thome, who accomplished the fete during his last season with the Tribe in 2002.

By hitting a classic Thome moonshot into the right-center field stands at Progressive Field, Thome became the Tribe’s single-season home run leader.

He passed Albert Belle just a few days earlier, when he belted his 51st.

Thome and Belle are the only two men in Indians history to blast at least 50 home runs in a season.

Unbelievably, Belle did during the 144-game 1995 season.

It was the only time in Thome’s career that the left-handled slugger eclipsed 50. He hit 49 homers in 2001, and 47 in 2003 during his first season with the Phillies. Those types of consistent seasons help a guy hit 612 bombs, you know?
