6. Have roster flexibility

After the trade deadline, rumors will start hearing up on the buyout market and thanks to their deadline day trades, Cleveland will have some flexibility.

With the all the dust settled, Cleveland now has two open roster spots. Perhaps a player like Tony Allen, someone who’s able to defend on the perimeter will become available.

The Cavs opened up their second available roster spot by trading Dwyane Wade to the Miami Heat, allowing him finish his career where it started.

For Wade, Cleveland got an a second-round draft choice.

The buyout market saw the Cavs land Andrew Bogut last season, but that decision went bust after Bogut got hurt one minute into his Cavs debut.

With the All-Star game on deck and the playoffs just months around the corner, the Cavs have a lot of work to do to get their new roster playing at a championship caliber level.
