How many former Ohio State football players will be selected in the 2018 NFL Draft?

The 2018 NFL Draft will see multiple prospects who were members of the Ohio State football team. However, not many will be selected compared to what the university has been seeing.

Despite that, there is still more than enough prospect depth. Former Buckeyes will be named in all three days of the event.

With 10 eligible 2018 NFL Draft prospects, when will they be selected, which teams could be their new destinations, and are all 10 going to be drafted?

All 10 will be drafted but for a couple the wait will be very long.

Cornerback Denzel Ward is going to be the first Ohio State player off the board. The Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, Miami Dolphins, and Washington Redskins could all benefit from adding so. At the end of the day, if Cleveland does not draft him either four or 12 (via a trade with the Buffalo Bills), the 49ers are going to select him ninth overall.

Center Billy Price is going to be the second one drafted. Teams such as the Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, and Indianapolis Colts could all use help. If a team like the Jags don’t take him late in the first, Price should be destined for the Colts early in the second round.

Left tackle Jamarco Jones is also in that range; likely in the second more though. Houston, Miami, and the New England Patriots are a few who could use a left tackle. With the 42nd pick, Jones goes to the Dolphins.

Defensive end/linebacker Sam Hubbard is next. The Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, Atlanta Falcons, and Tennessee Titans would be glad to have an upgrade via Hubbard. Hubbard falls unfortunately a little lower than he should but still remains a second rounder thanks to the Titans selecting him with the 57th pick.

Jerome Baker following Hubbard as the 67th pick owned by the Colts. Indy has holes in multiple posiitons in their front seven and Baker should come in and compete for a starting gig. No team can ever have too many pass rushers. With that in mind, the Los Angeles Rams continue to add to their impressive defensive along with their 87th pick by selecting defensive end Jalyn Holmes.

Fellow defensive end Tyquan Lewis then gets drafted. His drive from Columbus is not too far as he is off the board with the Bengals selection, 100th overall in the third round.

Inside linebacker Chris Worley, tight end Marcus Baugh, and quarterback J.T. Barrett are the ones with the long wait.  It is two rounds before another Buckeye is off the board. By then, Arizona, Atlanta, Green Bay Packers, and others still could add depth at LB. Worley is selected in the sixth with the 207th pick by the Packers.

Baugh does not do anyhting where you are amazed by his play, but he does a good job overall. Despite his skill set not leading him to being drafted sooner, the Oakland Raiders with head coach Jon Gruden finds a role for him after taking the former OSU product in the sixth round with the 216th pick. Now Barrett is in an interesting spot.

At this point, he is probably hoping he goes undrafted so he picks the best fit for him. Unfortunately, that does not happen, but with the New Orleans Saints, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Seattle Seahawks among others set at QB, they can afford a developmental pick. New Orleans decides to turn the card in and develop Barrett with the 245th pick in the seventh round.
